Chatham County boating accident leaves 2 injured
Two people are recovering after being injured in a boating accident in Turner Creek on Sunday. Chatham Emergency Services were called to the scene around 6pm. They said the boat crashed in the area of Highway 80 and Bryan Woods Road near Paula Deen’s Creek House restaurant. We are told that the boat hit wooden fenders that protected the pillars of the bridge. One of the two victims was ejected from the boat, according to the CES. The CES said that to its knowledge, only one boat was involved. One of the two injured victims was taken to the Memorial with “lights and sirens”, which could indicate a more serious injury.
