Dale Robert Bicknell Obituary – The Palm Beach Post

With heavy hearts we announce that Mr. Dale Robert Bicknell, 63, of North Palm Beach, Florida tragically passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022 of a sudden cerebral hemorrhage, potentially caused by a genetic predisposition. Much inspiring, Dale was a tall, humble man who shared his knowledge, deep faith and love.

A proud Florida native, Dale was born in West Palm Beach to the late Norman Douglas Bicknell and Betty Jane Bicknell. He attended South Olive Elementary School, Conniston High School, and John I. Leonard High School Class of 1977 in West Palm Beach. He also attended Staunton Military Academy in Virginia for part of his high school years. Proud Gator, Dale graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Risk Management in 1981.

Dale was a successful self-made businessman working for several companies in the insurance industry before starting his own business Risk Management Associates, Inc. and Program Management Services, Inc. with his business partner. After selling his business at the age of 40 to Brown and Brown Insurance Company, he invested in various profitable business ventures. His strong work ethic began at a young age, from selling mangoes around the neighborhood to delivering the Palm Beach Post as a newspaper boy, to working as a busboy and doing landscaping work.

Married for 33 years to his California love and soulmate, Dale and his wife raised their three beautiful children in North Palm Beach. Dale was very supportive of his children’s endeavors, including coaching North Palm Beach Little League Baseball and cheering them on as they played on the school’s baseball, track, and volleyball teams. Dale loved the outdoors, especially the ocean. He was a scuba diver, snorkeler, fisherman, avid boater and golfer. His clever sense of humor and jokes lit up the room with smiles.

Survivors include his beloved wife Karnella, their children Raquel, Matt and Julie Bicknell; his siblings Marylou Keleher (Mike), Peggy McGuire (Marty), Debbie Snowden (David), Barry Bicknell (Kathy), Jack Bicknell (Claudia), Carl Bates (Janet), David Bates, Bruce Bates (Rosemary) and many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 717 Prosperity Farms Road, North Palm Beach. A celebration of life will follow from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Frigate’s Waterfront Bar & Grill, 400 US-1, North Palm Beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org), Shrinerschildrens.org, or the Calcagnini Center for Mindfulness at Jupiter Medical Center (JMCFoundation.org/ways-to-give/tribute-give/) on behalf of Dale Bicknell.
