Huawei transfers its ICT knowledge into an interactive workshop to enable young people

Cairo: Huawei, the global pioneer of information and communication technology solutions, participated in a preparatory workshop “The future of technology and post-pandemic digital transformation”, organized on the sidelines of the Global Forum of Youth (WYF) which is held in Sharm el-Sheikh from January 10 to 13, 2022 under the patronage of HE President Abdel-Fattah El-Sissi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to address various areas in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT). The main objective of the interactive workshop is to come up with an idea or a project to solve a problem that the world is facing and to reach a set of recommendations for young people related to solving this problem through the various applications of technology such as IOT, thermal imaging, AI discussed in the workshop, in which Huawei transferred its knowledge in the field of cybersecurity.

The workshop was moderated by Dr. Yomna Abdelrahman, postdoctoral researcher at the Armed Forces University of Munich, Germany, who presented different applications of artificial intelligence and behavioral Internet – thermal camera for the behavior analysis. In addition, Mr. Brian Bosire Kenyan Technology, entrepreneur, presented how to deploy IoT technologies in agriculture and water.

Huawei’s speaker at the workshop, Mr. Frank Li, Regional Head of Cybersecurity and Privacy, gave a presentation on the importance of cybersecurity and why businesses and governments should use it. invest, showcasing the latest ways to protect individuals, businesses and governments from cyberattacks—creating secure systems and networks using standards and best practices. Mr. Li also discussed approaches in which high cyber resilience could be built in collaboration with all parts of the cybersecurity ecosystem. Additionally, he discussed how to improve privacy awareness of end users.

Mainly attended by young people, the workshop provided an opportunity for participants to gain knowledge from various ICT experts and had the opportunity to present their ideas and innovative solutions to various global challenges using ICT fields. – to enable them, build their capacities and develop their digital skills.
