The academy has launched various programs such as the “Grassroots Innovation Program” and the “Sports Training Program” and will focus on developing a sports culture at a grassroots level and eventually collaboration with schools and academies while ensuring the use of technology to keep track. individual performance, progress and skill enhancement.
The academy will undertake the training of eight sports at grassroots and elite level. They are also developing four centers of excellence and training 500 coaches. Under its “Sports and Wellness Programme”, the organization aims to impact 10 lakh athletes over the next five years.
“I think cricket has given me so much and I want to give my effort and play my part to keep it alive. I want to pass on my knowledge and experience to the younger generation through this organization. I believe that if we put in the best of our efforts, hum sab apne dreams ko reality mein convert kar sakte hain (we can turn our dreams into reality),” Dhawan said.
On the cricket front, Dhawan, who recently led India to a clean 3-0 ODI series sweep in the West Indies, has been retained as India’s captain for the upcoming three-game ODI series in Zimbabwe from 18 to August 22 at the Harare Sports Club.
